Aloe Vera

Aloe vera thrives in the heat and mineral-rich soils of Lizq Oasis. Although aloe can grow in a wide range of habitats, it is thought that aloe’s adaptation for survival in semi-arid conditions, enhances the fluid content and medicinal potency of its succulent leaf tissue.

We grow moringa intensively for leaf production and as trees for vegetable and seed pods. Alley planting of moringa provides shade for perennials and seasonal vegetables while increasing the overall water holding capacity of our soil.

Dates

At Lizq Oasis, we grow some of the most popular date varieties, Fardh, Khalas and Khunaizi using only natural fertilisers and methods of hand pollination. We harvest our dates from July to September taking care in the post-harvest phase to avoid dust and insect contamination.

The sandy mineral rich soils of the Hajar Mountain plain provide an ideal growing medium for our lemongrass of the cymbopogon citratus variety. Stem cuttings are carefully propagated on farm in our nursery before being planted out into open field beds prepared with green manures and cover crop residues.
